The Arhuaca mochilas ('mochila' means bag in Spanish) are created by an indigenous tribe called - Arhuaco, and they live in the Sierra Nevada Mountains in Colombia and consider this part of the country to be the heart of the world. Their mission is to preserve the natural order of the earth and its surroundings.
We are working with an indigenous women led artisan group in the breathtaking Sierra Nevada mountains . These mochilas are lovingly handwoven by the women of the community with natural sheep wool, one bag can take anywhere from 20-40 days to weave, therefore each bag is completely unique.

The Arhuaca mochilas are very spacious, durable and resistant to all types of weather. it is made from 100% sheep wool. They are worn by everyone in all seasons.

"CAMINOS DE LA SIERRA" means mountain roads. the route/the climb of the Sierra in Spanish. It represents the journey, the road, the walk. Mountain roads symbolize the journey of life, filled with twists, turns, ascents, and descents. They represent the path one takes, often uncertain and challenging but also filled with opportunities for discovery and personal growth.
